Ritmo 75 gr.2

« on: April 27, 2006, 10:59:46 AM »

team N° 289  with Bettega, De Vito, Perrissinot. Ritmo Alitalia color
team N° 287 with Fusaro,Perissutti, Alboreto. Ritmo  River Team color

Bettega ended 2nd in scratch behind the Porsche 935 Turbo of Moretti. The team of  Fusaro Alboreto handicaped by a bad suspension ended 6th. Although Alboreto was handeling the circuits quite well!
De Vito was driving the Ritmo on the circuits and Bettega was doiing special stages. This Ritmo was 30 kg lighter and equipped for this occasion with bigger brakes. The power was brought to 168 HP and the gearbox was switched during the differend stages (track or special rally). The press was talking of the Bettega show. Après seulementAfter only 4 specials Bettega was already 4th in scratch, behind 3 Lancia Stratos.

On the last series of photos (black and white) you see the Bettega car in preparation. The fully prepared engine just passed its dyno test while the 5 speed gear box is beiing assembled.
Look at the special disigned dashboard. All meters can be dismounted very easely! Brakes cervo: The dual Abarth cilinder competition assembly for super speed.

In this page, I see a Ritmo gr.2 with a "2000 cc bialbero" engine...
Is this possible?? I don't think it....

Bye.Lele.

I found an article by Alfred Constantino in one of his books where he mentioned this car as beiing the 1980 Fiat Abarth Ritmo Corsa/Rally 2000 Giro d'Italia.

"it was the last creation of Colucci before his retreat  from Abarth in 1980. The DOHC 2000 cc engine of the 131 replaced the SOHC 1500 cc. The engineer Colucci has modified the front train and the suspension of the75 first serie, and the engine is prepared "full race" like the injection engine Abarth develloped on the 131 world champion. This Abarth 2000 competition prototype made excellent results in the Giro d'Italia of 1980. The  performance was more than equal than simular touring of its class."

So I think it can....

I only have the Constantino article. There is not mentioned whitch group (I would say it is in group 2). The pilot must have been Bettega as it was Abarths topdriver of that moment!

Thanks for your beautiful words.
Tomorrow morning we will have the new shocks-absorber.
The shocks-absorber are those that in years 1982-1983 used on the Ritmo 125 TC gr.A-N.
The brake and all the mechanical parts are those of the version 125 TC (2000 cc bialbero).
We have added 4 carburetors Weber 40.
As soon as I have other photos I send to you.
I am happy for speaking with you about our machine.
Bye bye.
